Blastmud is a multi-player text-based post-apocalyptic game (MUD). It has player-vs-enemy and opt-in player-vs-player fighting. You can play it with a MUD client (or telnet), in your web browser, or on your Android device. Your aim is to survive and thrive in a harsh world filled with things that want to kill you.
Blastmud has no fixed goal - you can’t win or lose at Blastmud, which means you get to set your own objectives (“sandbox play”)! You can be an explorer, a crafter, a fighter, a medic, a scientist, the CEO of your own large corp, or some combination - and when you add in roleplay options, the possibilities to make the game your own are nearly endless.
Unlike many MUDs, Blastmud is completely Free / Open Source software (including content), and is written in Rust, with contributions from the community encouraged.
To no-one’s surprise another big title have just completely cyberpunked on the premiere - buggy, under-developed, remade to appeal to everyone. And ended up quickly forgotten. Yes, I mean Saints Row...
This curios case is indeed curious, but for unusual reason. It is about the online game from Wargaming company, World of Warships, but it sort-of really isn’t.
