TikTok, Google and Meta are suing California over the new law that aims to stop the brainrot among youths. Crunchy frog anyone? It’s fresh.

Crunchy frog anyone?

TikTok, Google and Meta filed separate lawsuits in federal courts challenging California’s new law, which bans addictive social media features for users under 16. Their argument? It violates the First Amendment rights, which is... the freedom of speech. Yup, it looks like they are the victims of their own brainrot-spewing machines.

The new bill, called Youth Social Media Law, prohibits social media platforms from offering "psychologically exploitative features", such as personalized recommendation feeds, autoplay videos and endless scrolling, AKA "the brainrot makers". This would also mean that the platforms will have to find a way to verify the age of the users, because it is completely legal to turn adult users into screen-tied zombies.

And out of all the laws in the world, they chose the freedom of speech as the hill they want to die on. Not any of the laws that guard the corporate greed and abuse of the users, no, they went for freedom of speech.

And it is hard to argue against their lawsuit, I mean they do exploit the users and addict them to endless streams of, let’s be generous and call it "content", but if they are not allowed to, think of the sales! Think of those poor, poor investors, who want to make money out of your kids addiction! Why no one cares about their feelings and their freedom of speech? Crunchy frog anyone?
