The game is played by more than a thousand players, which places it close to being called an MMO (massive multiplayer game). Each user runs his own table tennis team and takes part in the division and inter-divisional competitions. As a multiplayer game, Table Tennis Manager offers the users options to also interact outside of the competitions, they can exchange information either via the internal mail system of the game or via the forum.
While taking care of their clubs, the manages have to not only tend to the current line-up, but also set up and train the youth team and make it future-proof through bringing the best young players. In the lower divisions, you can face the computer opponents, who might not be as much challenge, but they will help you familiarize yourself with the game options. But when you manage to advance to the top divisions, you will face the experienced opponents, so use your time in the lower leagues wisely. The game is more demanding the higher you play in the divisions ladder, and only one team can win the championship.
