Online Games Bay
Epic Games, the company behind a once successful game engine, behind inexplicably popular microtransactions game and behind barely remembered online games store, just fired around a quarter of its employees.

According to Tim Sweeney, CEO of Epic Games, the decision to fire about 1000 employees is a part of a worth 500 million dollars plan to cut the costs. This, of course, raises questions how much do they pay their employees, because that is one bold statement.
In reality, the microtransactions machine stopped generating as much income as it used to, so of course, the employees are there to pay the price, some of which were with the company since the premiere of Fortnite.
I guess that means the insanity around the online games store, whatever the name of the platform is, will finally come to an end. Without throwing money at developers for the exclusivity of their games being there for a year, the store would surely never even took off.
Oh, well, at least the CEO is fine, who cares about the employees, they were just doing the every-day work around, they can be replaced by AI, right? I mean, Tim Sweeney is strongly against marking AI-generated games as such, because... I guess, it would cut down his own incomes.

For decades now EA was the icon of a company that does not care about anyone or anything. And now, after a success of Battlefield 6, they has proven they can be even worse than you could expect.
At the end of July, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy announced that they are gonna take steps to remove view bots from the platform. Now they have and... the results are quite surprising.
Almost 3 months ago I was worried that Stalker 2 might be a huge disappointment for several reasons. Now, that developers showed us the gameplay trailer, lots and lots of red flags popped up on this project that made me feel smug and important...
