Sam Altman, the "brain" behind introducing AI as a commercial product is getting really desperate and a bit detached from reality.

OpenAI, the apparent first big AI company to go bankrupt, is getting desperate in defending the decision to introduce artificial intelligence as a commercial product a few years back. Sam Altman, the "brain" behind that decision, was quoted recently that the energy and water used to train and maintain AI can be justified by the fact that human beings take a lot of time, energy and water to train too.
Wow, he had a lot of time to come up with explanation why he is sinking every electronic market on the planet by taking over all available memory chips, using insane amount of energy and water to power it and cool the data centres and THIS is the explanation? That humans are wasting that water and energy on surviving on Earth?
It reminds me of a quote from a sitcom years ago, "doctor, please help him, he says what he thinks!". I mean, is OpenAI really that desperate for survival they cannot hire someone who would write the things he can say or stop him from getting detached from reality?
And I can only mention the question everyone (myself included) has been asking the AI fanatics - if you take away the jobs from people, who will be buying your services or products? And now, we can add another question: if you get rid of the people from the equation, who will be using your AI? Who will be your clients? What is the purpose of all of this?
