IGN, the corporate owner of Eurogamer for the past 2 years, in its wisdom decided to shut down part of the Eurogamer, the video department to be exact. To be fair, they did break it before they shut it down.

IGN, the iconically bad gaming "journalism" corporation, just buried its new victim, this time it is the video department of Eurogamer, responsible for their YouTube channel. To be fair, Eurogamer channel in past years had limited reach (2 million views in a good month), but it had its charm and style, focusing mostly on "let’s plays" of new titles and some seldom reviews.
Unfortunately in May 2024 the parent company of Eurogamer, Gaming Network, was taken over by IGN and since then the corporation rules destroyed everything that was still worth anything in Eurogamer YouTube channel. The "let’s plays" were removed completely, replaced by editorials, opinions and short, soulless reviews. For some unknown reason the reviews were taken from Eurogamer website, but read by people from video department, which made them a bit awkward when the people who read the review had a completely different opinion than the text they were reading.
The takeover was accompanied by layoffs and shut down of some channels (f.e. Dicebreaker), the revamp of the channel put off a lot of fans of their previous style and form, so now, almost 2 years later, IGN decided to end this experiment and layoff even more people. Unfortunately, the bastardization of the gaming media by companies like IGN continues - they have no clue what they are doing, and then they lay off people who do.

I never thought I would see the day that Ian Higton will no longer be in Eurogamer.

One of my favourite quotes from Mystery Science Theater 3000 is "he came, he changed nobody’s life and then he left", which pretty much describes what happened to Cyberpunk 2077. Again.
Wargaming.net, a company behind World of Tanks and World of Warships (also World of Warplanes, but realistically who cares?) is apparently leaving Russia and Belarus.
It seems like the media in the gaming industry has still a lot to learn from the examples such as Cyberpunk 2077 and Anthem - hype is not everything. Why do I mention it? No, I’m not gonna talk about Cyberpunk 2077 again, some other title caught my attention and by pure coincidence it was a Polish game as well.
Do you know what is the laziest trite in writing a story? To finish it with "it was all just a dream". Unfortunately, some people don’t know that, and so we have another episode of KSI’s meltdown saga.
Life is full of tough choices and one of the hardest ones to crack is who can you trust? In some cases the answer is pretty simple: no one.
Another company, Pixie Interactive, just went under due to absolute morons in charge, who thought cryptocurrency is the way ahead. What can I say besides Pixie Interactive kicked the bucket, Pixie Interactive shuffled off its mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleeding choir invisible. This is an ex-company!
Cheating is serious problem for many online games, but equally serious is the lack of ways to get rid of the players that do not follow the rules. Unless you do something radical, like Last Oasis rece...
Or to be precise slightly better. For some users. Yes, CD Projekt Red, finally came up with patch 1.5 and... it’s still far, far, far from what was expected from the game.
