Sony is sulking again

According Bloomberg, Sony is sulking again and will take their toys away from the unworthy PC players. And yes, it is all down to money. And stupidity.

Sony is sulking again

Sony, to much surprise of the markets, decided in past few years to dip their toes in the PC market by offering their single player games to be available for the non-console players. It was surprising mostly because of their staunch belief that those games were bringing new players to their hardware.

According to Bloomberg, this experiment was deemed a fail by Sony, so they will not offer any more of their single player titles on PC. One of the factors, brought as an explanation, was the fact that the sales of those titles were not great. To be fair, Sony did very little to actually make them sale well - some of them required an additional account in PlayStation Network, (which might have put off some users), others were introduced on the PC platforms months if not years after the premiere on the console, so way past the best moment to actually sell them.

Or to put it in a different way: Sony nudged the doors slightly open for the PC players with very limited number of titles, most of them pass their sell-by date, with heavily caveated access rules, and after a short period of time they are shutting it down even before they gave enough time to lure some new users. Smart move, Sony, smart move indeed.

Oh god, it’s spreading!

No, I’m not talking about COVID, although that is spreading as well as we speak. Do you remember the old rule "if it’s free you’re not the client, you’re the product"? Well, we have to come up with new one...

Untamed Isles - another one bites the dust...

Untamed Isles, an open world MMO game, which was funded by users of Kickstarter, just went into hiatus after 2 years of development. The project got 4 times the money the developers asked for, so... of course it is another huge fail.

Wargaming shuts down a game

Wargaming, the infamous company behind titles like World of Tanks and World of Warships announced that they are about to shut down one of their titles. And not the one you think.

Browser game devs, take care of the basics

Right now browser online games have to compete not only with each other, but also mobile games and (even if they are mostly crappy) tons of games available on platforms like Steam. And there is one thing some of the online browser games developers forget - the basics.

GTA 6 delayed again

Grant Theft Auto VI, yet another highly anticipated game of recent years, is delayed. Let the sarcastic clapping begin.

Ubisoft, u ok hun?

Ubisoft, the beloved company behind some of the most popular game series on the market, is in deep (redacted) right now. And all that can be heard in the background is sarcastic clapping all around the world.

Yes, about four weeks. Maybe it is much, maybe it isn’t, it’s not really for me to judge. What am I talking about? About the period of time that really recognizable games can keep their audience i...
