Ubisoft, the beloved company behind some of the most popular game series on the market, is in deep (redacted) right now. And all that can be heard in the background is sarcastic clapping all around the world.

Ubisoft, the so-called game development company, had some hard times lately, and it looks like there are some even harder times ahead of them. In past few years most of their titles flopped, some of them flopped spectacularly (like Skull and... whatever the title was), their shares landed safely at the bottom of the scale, they brutally destroyed any attempts of their employees to establish a union, and they had to sell their most valuable IPs to Chinese. Sorry, I meant they accepted a generous investment (cough, cough) from TenCent.
But, as it is in life, disasters like to bundle up, so Ubisoft is now facing a new round of (redacted) with 6 titles being cancelled. Among them were three not yet announced games, one of the mobile (so, who cares?), but also the Prince of Persia title that was supposed to be in the polishing phase of development. What is more, some of the studios belonging to Ubisoft will be shut down.
Of course, Ubisoft provided a gibberish explanation, that the changes "will be shaped by distinct creative ’genres’ led by dedicated high-profile, incentivized teams with a unique set of expertise in those genres" and to "have full financial ownership and account for economic performance". Or, to translate it to English, "we are in deep (redacted) and we try to dig ourselves out of it".
What a surprise, their shares tanked, or to be more precise, tanked even more to the lowest price for share in about 14 years. Oh, well, who knew that bastardizing your products can have negative impact on your company.
