A Dark Room, at the first glance, looks like a simple text-based adventure game - you start by gathering resources, almost in a clicker-game style, but once you get through a rough beginning, you will find a strategy game hidden behind this facade. While the world around you is cold and unfriendly, you have to take care of your villagers and build up your town to face the surrounding enemies.
With each step of the way, you can improve the inventory of people you send on expeditions, who will wander into the post-apocalyptic world and build new elements of your town.
The game invites players to light a fire and gradually unfolds an entire world through unpredictable mechanics and layers of information that is made available.
The gameplay, although minimalistic, contains elements of resource management, exploration, choices and consequences, crafting and building, but also a mystery unveils through the story and, of course, the survival.
