Planetarium Manager was created in Portugal, but the game clearly drew inspiration from Swedish Hattrick that was at that time gathering a lot of attention, but creators of Planetarium went different way.
The basic concept is quite similar, player skills are described using only few basic parameters, which gave very good result in case of Hattrick because it was easy to get basic understanding of their potential. In Planetarium it was done slightly different - while players have over a dozen of parameters some of them apply only to players on certain position (f.e. tackling influences only defenders).
But in Planetarium Manager few seemingly not important parameters changed a lot, this parameters were for example quality and potential that described talent the player has. On one hand it made the game more interesting, because there were more differences between players, but in long run it meant that players with low potential were treated as useless since it took far more work to get their skills improved.
Planetarium Manager also offers far more individual statistics and more staff options. The world is similar - you can establish club in your own country, but you will start in lower division and, just like in Hattrick, it is really hard to be promoted above some level.
