Xbox is again on the front of news websites, and again not for reasons that would bring much hope. Phil Spencer, the CEO of Microsoft Gaming, just announced his retirement and his protégé, Sarah Bond, resigns.

Phil Spencer retires, Sarah Bond is out

Following the announcement of Phil Spencer’s retirement, another shockwave hit the Xbox fans as Sarah Bond, Xbox President, just announced her resignation. It is surprising since she was seen as the natural heir to the throne of CEO of Microsoft Gaming, it turns out the future might be a bit more bleak for the console.

Microsoft just announced the new Xbox President, Asha Sharma, whose biggest contribution to the company was the position of Chief Marketing Officer and, more recently, President of Core AI Product. In the meantime, she spent a few years with Meta, mostly as Vice President of Product and Engineering.

What all of it means? Not much to be honest, but it is never a good sign when such big changes take place in a short period of time.
