Online Games Bay
Pagan Online, the latest addition to Wargaming family, looks like another victim in line of AAA online games that failed soon after premiere.
Pagan Online, a fantasy hack and slash game from Wargaming, publisher of such titles as World of Tanks, World of Warships or Master of Orion, is dropping the "Online" part of its title. Reason? Rather obvious - game failed to attract enough players to make the title sustainable.
So how well Pagan Online, that premiered in April 2019, was doing? Or rather how bad? Soon after premiere the game attracted about 3,000 users, but just weeks later the player base shrunk to less than 100 and in early 2020 it was even below 20 users at the same time, which is bad for MMORPG, especially from established publisher like Wargaming. So what the Belarusian company did? They are dropping the online bit of the title and offer single player campaign that lasts about 50 hours.
Pagan Online joined the ranks of such online games as Crucible, Anthem, The Culling 2 or Planetside Arena that were in production for years, but were pretty much dead in just weeks.

It seems like the media in the gaming industry has still a lot to learn from the examples such as Cyberpunk 2077 and Anthem - hype is not everything. Why do I mention it? No, I’m not gonna talk about Cyberpunk 2077 again, some other title caught my attention and by pure coincidence it was a Polish game as well.
